November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month – a time to look after our lungs and check in with mob who might be eligible for the new free lung cancer screening program.
Lung cancer sadly impacts too many of our people, but early detection can save lives. Starting July 2025, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50–70 who smoke or have recently quit may be able to access a free, safe lung screening test. This program is designed to be culturally safe, accessible and available in both cities and remote communities.
Yarn with your family, Elders or local Kambu Health clinic to see if this screening could help someone you care about.
