Rhianna Patrick

DEPUTY CHAIR

Rhianna Patrick is a proud Torres Strait Islander woman with family connections to the Zagareb (Mer) and Wagadagem (Mabuyag) clans. Born in Weipa on the western side of Cape York, Rhianna moved to Brisbane with her family at the age of ten (10).


With 25 years of media experience, Rhianna has built a respected career as a freelance journalist, broadcaster, and audio content creator. Her work spans news, television documentaries, national radio programming, and podcasting—demonstrating her versatility and deep commitment to storytelling.


In addition to her broadcast work, Rhianna has written for respected platforms including Kill Your Darlings, NME Australia, The Australian Music Vault, Rotten Tomatoes, and IndigenousX. 


Rhianna also curates Original Storytellers, one of Spotify’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playlists, showcasing the rich diversity and talent of First Nations artists.
