My name is Karah MacKenzie. I am a Koinjamal, Torres Strait Islander, and South Sea Islander woman born in Mackay.
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Townsville James Cook University in 2016.
After graduation, I moved to Ipswich and began working in the community sector of child protection.
In 2022, I joined Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health as a social worker and later was successful in obtaining the position of Social Health Manager.
In 2023, I was promoted to Director, Community & Programs.
My professional values are centred on social justice, equality, and integrity.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, watching TV shows, swimming in the ocean, and solving puzzles.
